For 15 years, the Weru Self Help Support Group has been a lifeline for widows, widowers, and caregivers carrying the heavy weight of grief, poverty, and caregiving responsibilities. What started as one man’s compassionate response, Julius Marete gathering neighbors who shared the pain of loss, has grown into a resilient community of 30 members rebuilding their lives through counseling, skills training, and sustainable income-generating initiatives. These caregivers serve on the front lines of palliative care, often in silence, facing social stigma and economic barriers that make every day a struggle. This Giving Tuesday, we are calling on generous hearts to help us strengthen this circle of hope by funding programs that nurture emotional healing, economic empowerment, and dignity for every caregiver in the group.
